2009 Luna Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
One 750ml bottle
This '09 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is composed primarily of grapes from three hilltop vineyards on Howell Mountain. One vineyard is located at an elevation of 1,000 feet on a severely sloping west facing block. The second is a certified organic vineyard that lies on the east side of Howell Mountain at an elevation of 1,375 feet. The final portion of this wine is located on an old vine Cabernet block at 1,800 feet. 2009 was the sixth in a string of exceptional vintages in the Napa Valley. It was a “compressed” harvest during which all Cabernet Sauvignon grapes were picked within two weeks ending on October 15th.
The '07 has higher natural acids, which forecasts the excellent aging potential of this wine. These grapes were fermented for two weeks at warm temperatures and followed with three-week maceration, extracting maximum ripe flavors and supple tannins.
