2010 Fillaboa Rías Baixas Albariño
One 750ml bottle
The winemaker described the finished '10 Fillaboa Albariño as being “both fruit-forward and aromatic with a great equilibrium of flavors and perfectly integrated acidity.” Containing refreshing aromas of green apples, freshly-cut pineapple, mixed citrus and stone fruit, it has a light golden hue and succulent fruit flavors. Fresh and refined, it is no wonder this Albariño is one of the most sought-after in Spain.
One of the only wineries in the D.O. Rías Baixas that produces wine solely from estate-owned fruit, Bodegas Fillaboa is unique in their commitment to a single bottling of their Albariño per vintage for the U.S. market, which helps to prevent bottle variation and ensure consistent quality. The 70 hectares (173 acres) of vineyards owned by Fillaboa are located on the southern tip of Galicia, in a sub-region of Rías Baixas called Salvaterrado Miño. A region known for its rather high elevations and excellent wind flow, Bodegas Fillaboa is nestled next to the River Miño that divides Spain from Portugal.
