2007 Hawkes Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
One 750ml bottle
From what many people feel is the vintage of the decade, this 100% Cabernet Sauvignon is estate grown and produced in the Alexander Valley. Its diverse flavors are a result of blending from three of Hawkes’ hillside vineyards: 50 percent from Pyramid Vineyard, 30 percent from Stone Vineyard and 20 percent from Red Winery Road Vineyard. It is smooth, elegant and opulent, and perhaps the most balanced wine Hawkes has ever made. Classic Cabernet dust appears on the nose, along with plenty of dark fruit and chocolate. On the palate, nice herbs join the big, dark fruit and are lifted by a solid structure of acid and tannin. The finish is tangy and refreshing and promises great aging potential.
