2009 Pine Ridge "Dijon Clones" Carneros Chardonnay

Pine Ridge was one of the first wineries to pair French Dijon clones with the cool Carneros terroir. Their estate vineyards in this fog-shrouded region enjoy a long growing season, allowing the development of intense tropical fruit and citrus flavors. The result is a California Chardonnay that is stylistically original, a perfect marriage of both French and California winemaking techniques. 
 
This supple, golden Chardonnay treats the nose to marvelously rich aromas of fresh lemon zest, ripe green apple and juicy Bosc pear, balanced by nuances of caramel and cinnamon bark. Upon entry, the palate overflows with multi-layered flavors of ruby grapefruit, fresh pineapple and baked apple. Subtle hints of cinnamon sugar, ground clove and sweet vanilla round out the lengthy and clean finish. Crisp, clean and stunning, this Chardonnay would pair well with a number of uncomplicated dishes.
