2006 Carol Shelton "Bacchus Laureate" Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel
One 750ml bottle
This old vine Zinfandel has deep blackberry fruit and big spice plus black pepper, a touch of chocolate and cola in the oak contribution. It is richly textured in the mouth, with good structure for aging and a long finish of black fruit.
The “Bacchus Laureate” celebrates Carol’s 30th Anniversary of getting Baccalaureate in Fermentation Science from UC Davis in 1978. She is happy to pay tribute to her professors by donating $2 per bottle sold to the building and equipping of the new UC Davis Winery, which will be the dream of any enology student!
