2008 Judd's Hill Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
One 750ml bottle
Two of Napa Valley’s most esteemed appellations provide the lion’s share of Cabernet Sauvignon fruit for this wine. The lush, rich and opulent character of Cabernet Sauvignon from Oakville is blended with structured, dense and powerful fruit from the Stag’s Leap District. The Cabernet Franc comes from the hills of Pope Valley’s Juliana vineyard. And the addition of brightly expressive, cool-climate Merlot from Coombsville adds a spicy, earthy shade to this wine.
This vintage of Judd’s Hill Napa Cabernet Sauvignon opens with aromas of sweet cassis, sandalwood and eucalyptus with dark brambly, berry fruit. Once in the mouth, you may notice that the tannins are softer than those of previous vintages, with flavors of black berries and currant. An alcohol level of just 14.1% makes it reminiscent of the nuanced, food-friendly blends of Bordeaux, accessible now and possessing great cellaring potential.
