2009 Lake Chalice Marlborough Pinot Noir
One 750ml bottle
Classic New Zealand Pinot Noir, this wine is ruby colored with aromas of cherry with hints of sweet violet and rich savory undertones of spicy oak. Medium-bodied, it has a soft, full palate, well-balanced acidity, supple tannins and lingering cherry and spice flavors. This Pinot is all about poise, elegance and subtlety rather than brute power.
The majority of the fruit for this wine was harvested from Lake Chalice’s vineyards – the Falcon Vineyard, Quarry Block, and Pinot Envy (Phil’s home block) in the Wairau Valley and Eyrie Vineyard in the Lower Waihopai Valley. 14% was from a block in Central Otago with the fruit picked and then trucked overnight for processing.
