2007 Rutherford Hill Napa Valley Malbec
One 750ml bottle
Malbec is valued for its aromatics and the deep color that stems from the grape’s darkly pigmented skin. Looking at this wine gives you a definite visual clue as to the varietal. The grape got its start in France’s Bordeaux region and is widely planted in Argentina and Chile but enjoys only modest acreage in the United States. Rutherford Hill is fortunate to have a vineyard high in Napa Valley’s Atlas Peak appellation as the source for this unusual wine. This vintage of Malbec is blended with 8% Cabernet Sauvignon and features bright berry aromas. The palate is lushly flavored with blackberry, boysenberry, ripe plum and a hint of dark chocolate.
