2008 DeLoach Green Valley of Russian River Valley Pinot Noir
One 750ml bottle
This wine is a blend from several vineyards in the small Green Valley appellation, each of which contributes something unique to the finished wine. The late-ripening Ferguson vineyard lends dark, intense fruit and tannins while the Giberti vineyard ripens earlier in a slightly warmer area of the valley. The backbone of the blend is from the Swicegood vineyard where the soils are reminiscent of those in Burgundy: rich in clay and calcareous.
Complex and enticingly aromatic, the wine bursts with notes of raspberries, strawberry-rhubarb pie, plum and black cherries with traces of pine duff and lavender. With a rich fruit palate, a fine-grained medium body and long finish, this wine is excellent alone or with a variety of foods.
