2008 Judd's Hill Old Vine Lodi Petite Sirah
One 750ml bottle
As in years past, the Judd’s Hill Old Vine Petite Sirah is concentrated and opulent, while maintaining a food-friendly balance. The nose is rich with black currant, Bing cherries and brambly berry aromas. When tasting the wine, you won’t have to work too hard to identify its robust flavors of boysenberry pie, currant and quince. Concentrated and smoky with bright acid and textured tannins, this wine has all the building blocks for a delicious bottle of Petite Sirah.
For many years, the Finkelstein family of Judd’s Hill has been friends with the Cranston Brothers, who own and farm about 400 acres of grapes in Acampo, just north of Lodi. The well-drained sandy loam soils of this 75 year-old vineyard provide consistently delicious fruit with an intensity of varietal character and silky textures.
