2009 Oreana Central Coast Chardonnay
One 750ml bottle
The focus is on the grape, not the barrel or the technology, with this wonderfully rich Chardonnay (blended with 5% Semillon). Fruit-forward with a supple, seductive body, it has flavors of tropical guava and honeysuckle.
Pressed on a cool October evening, the juice was gravity-racked into stainless steel to cold settle for 24 hours before initiating fermentation. A brand new yeast strain, RV134 developed exclusively for extracting flavor density from white wines was used.
