2008 Clos LaChance "Whitestone Vineyard" Central Coast Cabernet Sauvignon

The Whitestone Vineyard is a ten-acre plot of premium hillside Cabernet Sauvignon that surrounds the Clos LaChance Winery in San Martin, CA. The soil in this part of the vineyard is unique to the remainder of the 150-acre estate—rocky, limestone base with excellent drainage.
The wine greets you with a gorgeous, rich dark opaque purple color. The nose shows black currants, dried cherries, anise, and a hint of rosemary. On the palate, dried cherries combine beautifully with currants and blackberries. Vanilla, a hint of mint and bright acidity balance with the tannins leading into the long, velvety finish.
