Since the 1980s, the Russian River Valley has been recognized as the source for California’s most opulent and exotic Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays. The key attributes of the region are its cool, maritime climate and the small, hand-tended vineyards hidden along the ridges and protected pockets around the countryside. During the growing season the landscape is often covered in evening and morning fog, lowering temperatures and reducing sun exposure.

The '07 Russian River Valley Chardonnay delivers the broad aromatics and opulence we’ve all come to expect from this cool, coastal AVA. It opens with baked pear, crème brûlée, grilled almonds and honeysuckle. On the palate, the wine is plush and round with highlights of with butter, nougat, pear and cream.
