Winemaker Notes

Winemaker Notes: The Rattler Rock is a Dry Creek Zinfandel. The fruit is grown on mature, hillside vineyards located within a 5 mile radius from the winery. To ensure a style that is slightly restrained, full of nuance, jam and spice, the fruit is only lightly crushed (lots of whole berries) and fermentations are kept slightly cooler than usual. Oak was 12% new, 24% once used, mostly French, mostly fine grained to support fruit/jam characteristics.
