2007 Mojon's Bench "Syncopation" Alexander Valley Red Blend
One 750ml bottle
A Pomerol/Rhone blend, 07 Syncoption harmonizes the old-world Bordeaux varietals of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petite Verdot, and infuses them with the verve of Syrah. It's easy to drink but big on nuance – a wine that pleases a wide variety of tastes.
The smell of Bing cherry, raspberry and plum jump from the glass, followed by the more subtle flavors of cedar and tobacco on the nose. The French oak adds rich vanilla and cocoa nuances. This wine has silky tannins on the front palate, followed by broader sweeping tannins on the finish. Though the wine is harmonious, you can taste the subtle contributions of each varietal in the blend, making for an incredibly complex mid palate. The finish is very reminiscent of an old world wine, full and structured with balanced acidity to complement food.
