2009 Il Cuore "The Heart" Mendocino County Zinfandel
One 750ml bottle
Il Cuore Zinfandel and Petite Sirah grapes are harvested from three vineyards in the historic Redwood Valley and on the Ukiah bench, which are all premium winegrowing regions of Mendocino County. This wine, with its bountiful fruit aroma and flavor, illustrates why California Zinfandel are so famous. Old-school winemaking techniques and gentle use of oak barrel aging are used to make it ready to drink now with cellar-aging potential for another five years.
This wine has a mild aroma suggesting dark cherries with a woodsy and peppery note. The wine is medium-bodied and is supple on the palate, with flavors of ripe berries, plums and black pepper. It is a classically styled elegant wine.
