2009 Artezin Mendocino County Zinfandel
One 750ml bottle
To create Artezin Zinfandel, winemaker Randle Johnson strives for a classic varietal, fruit-forward, “Zinny” Zin. The signature Artezin style – a full-bodied wine with round tannins and moderate alcohol – is created by seeking out sustainably farmed, family-owned vineyards. This wine represents a blend of the best grapes from vineyards in the ridgelines and bench lands of the Ukiah Valley in Mendocino County.
Ruby red and purple in hue, this wine has aromas of black pepper, boysenberry, clove, cinnamon and allspice. The red fruit flavors fill the palate, dominated by raspberry, red cherry and pomegranate, complemented by hints of nutmeg and rosemary for a classic varietal character. Soft, supple tannins create a firm, yet lush mouthfeel. Though this wine is created for immediate enjoyment, it will age gracefully for two to three years.
