2007 Gilbert Wahluke Slope Petit Verdot
One 750ml bottle
Scorched earth, wildflowers and blueberries lead into a saturated palate of sweet fruit and firm tannins as this wine shows off the potential of Petit Verdot on the Wahluke Slope. Normally used for blending in a Bordeaux wine, Petit Verdot is typically a big, tannic wine with black color and pointed acidity. Gilbert Cellars only makes Petit Verdot by itself in the best vintages, when flavors, textures, acidity and tannin come into balance; they feel that 2007 was perfect for it.
