2006 Martin Arndorfer Grüner Veltliner Strasser Weinberge
One 750ml bottle
Flint, rock and grassy notes on the nose are joined by crisp acidity and a mineralic edge on the palate. Finishes clean with the characteristic spiciness of Gruner Veltliner, Austria's most widely planted varietal.
“In connection with the topic of “terroir“, I have had the opportunity to find the best vineyards (first growths) in Strass. Wines bearing the name of “Strasser Weinberge“ (Strass Vineyards) are wines with a classic vinification that boast a superb freshness and impress the wine lover with a complex structure - a complexity gained from the great potential of these vineyards.” Martin Arndorfer
2006 Vintage Report - A great year by any standard, arguably the best in two decades. Yields were low but quality exceptional. After a cool start to the vintage the lead up to harvest was long and dry ensuring all varieties reached maturity without loosing acidity. The prospect of aging both red and white is excellent.
