The Vineyard: 
Hyde Vineyard has justifiably become one of the superstar vineyards in Carneros. Through many years of dedicated research, planting and winemaking, Larry Hyde has developed two of the most important grape selections in California: Hyde-Wente Chardonnay and Hyde- Calera Pinot Noir. Our Hyde Vineyard Pinot Noir comes from three small blocks within the larger Hyde Vineyard: two are planted with the famous Hyde-Calera selection, along with some Dijon, Pommard and Bebe clones, and the third is a plot of 25-year-old Swan clone. 
 
This vineyard exhibits classic Carneros flavors of strawberries and raspberries mingled with mocha, espresso and cinnamon. The Hyde Vineyard Carneros Pinot Noir consists of grapes from three small parcels of the vineyard planted to a veritable who’s who of the finest Pinot clones. 
 
From its startling blue-garnet hue onwards, this is a singular and profound expression of Pinot Noir that embodies all the reasons why Hyde has earned its reputation as one of California’s grand cru vineyards. 
 
Tasting Notes: 
Seductive aromas of cherry, kirsch and bittersweet chocolate, segue to red fruit flavors of raspberry, cranberry and framboise, with hints of char and cocoa in this Pinot. The 07 vintage is big and rich with a palate of soft, coating tannins, while still displaying elegant acid balance and a vibrant charm.
