The Vineyard:
Hudson Vineyard is located in a cool section of Carneros, in a small valley that offers some shelter from the wind. This 4-acre block of the vineyard features well-drained Haire loam soils and is planted to two clones, the Hudson-Wente selection (which as the name implies, was isolated by Lee Hudson himself) and Dijon 95. The unique location of Hudson Vineyard allows the grapes longer hangtime to develop flavor and intensity, without sacrificing acidity and balance.

Tasting Notes:
Striking a balance between elegant and super-rich, this is a great vintage for this Hudson Vineyard – Carneros Chardonnay, and one of the standouts of the growing season. The aromas are bright and pure, with exuberant notes of pineapple, peach and pear. On the palate, this wine continues revealing its vibrant nature with more sophisticated layers of poached pear, spice cake, caramel apple ginger and clove, supported by lovely density and a creamy mouthcoating texture.
