Michel-Schlumberger, sited on the western hillsides of Dry Creek Valley, has a well-earned reputation for its excellent Bordeaux varieties. They have long believed in blending these varieties for complexity, and both their red and white wines have harnessed the ripe, raw power of the new world with the elegant reins of the old.

 

The acclaimed Michel-Schlumberger estate lies off the beaten track in Wine Creek Canyon, a sylvan side pocket in the farthest western reaches of Dry Creek Valley. Located just outside Healdsburg in Sonoma County, the Estate is nestled in the benchlands and hillsides high above the valley, and produces some of the most distinct and intense wines found in California. 

  • Origins: The estate was founded in 1979 by Jean-Jacques Michel a native of Switzerland; in 1991, Jacques Schlumberger joined as a partner.
  • Pronunciation: The winery’s name is pronounced “Me-SHELL Shlum-bair-JAY.”
  • Location: One of the most beautiful wineries in Sonoma County’s Dry Creek Valley, the winery is a great place to picnic or just check out the views.
  • Events: The winery hosts a variety of events including a nature talks, petanque tournaments, a Friday night music series, and more.
