La Follette Wines
La Follette is a new venture by famed winemaker Greg La Follette, formerly of Flowers and Tandem Wines, and winner of countless awards for both his Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
A unique opportunity for lovers of Pinot Noir, La Follette is making their wines available for tasting exclusively to TastingRoom.com customers. Created by winemaking icon and Pinot aficionado Greg La Follette, winner of numerous awards for producing world-class wines for Hartford Court, Flowers, DeLoach and Tandem among others.
Frequently espousing age-old Burgundian practices not commonly used in this country, La Follette has built his career crafting rich and elegant wines that speak of a distinct sense of place. La Follette's wines have been served at the White House and at numerous state events. His Pinot Noir for Tandem Wines was rated number one in the world at the 2004 Pinot Noir Shootout and Summit. Wine Advocate called him one of the five finest producers of Pinot alive today.
- Winemaker: Greg La Follette is one of the world’s foremost Pinot Noir authorities, having worked at top wineries such as Beaulieu Vineyard, Kendall-Jackson, and Flowers where he was winemaker and general manager.
- Mentor: After studying Burgundian techniques at U.C. Davis, La Follette worked as research viticulturist/enologist with wine master, André Tchelistcheff.
- Philosophy: Born in Europe, he holds to the old-world view that wine is “raised” rather than “made” and requires “a passionate blending of art and science.”
- Consultant: La Follette has consulted on numerous new winery launches and redesigns in the U.S. and abroad, with projects on five continents.
- Region: La Follette wines showcase not only his skill with cool climate Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, but also the world-class Sonoma Country and Mendocino vineyards from which the grapes are sourced.
