A Whole New Way to Experience Wine

We think we’re onto something pretty exciting.

Never before could you taste a premium wine in the comfort of your home before ever buying the bottle. With TastingRoom.com, we’re trying to revolutionize the way people experience wine.

We offer Wine Samplers and full-size bottles from select producers of premium wine from around the world.

Samplers are a new kind of wine product, and sometimes people have questions about how best to use them. Here are some tips:

  • Finding a Wine. First, you’ve got to find a wine you want to try. You can browse by bottle, by sampler, or by winery. Read the descriptions. Are you drawn to buttery Chardonnays? Big, bold Zinfandels? Do you like up-and-coming boutique wineries or established vintners?
  • Ordering a Sampler. Once you find something that piques your interest, order a Wine Sampler to taste it. You’ll have a chance to taste that wine plus five others from the same winery to compare. In a few days, your Sampler will be delivered directly to you.
  • Getting your Shipment. Since we’re talking about alcohol here, someone 21 years or older has to sign for the shipment. Many people find it easier to ship wine to their work since they can count on someone to always be there to receive it. See Shipping & Delivery for more information.
  • Enjoying Your Sampler. Your Sampler is meant to be enjoyed, so drink up! Remember, this is wine so you’ll want to keep it in a dark, cool place and avoid extreme temperatures just as you would any wine. But if you try to “cellar” your Sampler, you're kinda missing the point.
  • Line ‘em up. When you’re ready to sample your wine, there are several ways to do it. We like to set up six glasses and pour the contents of each bottle into one. Put the bottle behind the glass so you can keep track of which is which. Then, start tasting.
  • Taste it. Pay attention to the order you taste your wine (the Tasting Menu inside each sampler box will have suggestions -- generally, whites before reds, medium-bodied before fuller-bodied.) Follow your tasting ABC’s: swirl, smell, taste. See Tasting 101 for more tips. And then — pay attention.
  • Note it. If you’re like us, you have to write things down or you’ll forget. Wine tasting is no different. Write down your first reactions, and how you like it after a few sips. Anything that will help you remember that wine. Is it light, medium or full-bodied? Do the flavors last long in the mouth? Most importantly, do you like the taste? Is it your style? Your taste buds are the boss.
  • Leverage your Learning. Once you find the wine(s) you like, buy a full-size bottle. Or several. Or even a case. You’ve just gained some important knowledge about your own taste and preferences. Take advantage of it. And, you can get amazing deals at TastingRoom.com through exclusive offers and coupons. So, you can save money buying wines you already know you love. Like we said, it’s a whole new way to experience wine.

We at TastingRoom.com believe it’s your taste that counts. Not what the “experts” tell you to like. What you like. Being able to try wine before you buy, without having to physically visit the winery, puts the power back in your palate. It’s what makes TastingRoom.com totally new. We think it’s a game changer. It could even be revolutionary. We’re thrilled to be creating a whole new way for wine lovers to discover and experience the world of wine.

We’re happy to have you join us on the journey.
